What are less-than-load (LTL) in the Logistics Sector?

Logistics companies generally offer their services in two modalities: full-load and LTL. Full-load refers to merchandise that occupies 100% of the storage space in a trailer. Specifically, this would be 33 or 26 pallets from the same customer in the trailer.

On the other hand, in LTL, shipments from multiple customers are grouped together to fill the trailer or container. The consolidation process involves collecting shipments from customers’ facilities and transporting them to logistics warehouses where they are grouped according to the delivery area.
